One civilization is judged over the energy consumption . Classification of Living civilization between different tiers is based on the amount of energy they consume in a finite time period .  we earthlings  want to know everything our sky of curiosity is limitless .

Imagine u wake up mid night because ur A.C get off u peep out from your windows you observe everything is dark in short light of your city I get off , not your city but whole grid of these blue planet get off , that will be worst nightmare of all time of everyone , Running out from energy , theoretically it is not possible . Sun is our main source of energy everyday this sun rays hits earth responsible for all living organism to sustain . now somehow human able to harness this sunrays into electricity .

For instance we are only able to get yield of this energy by just some small part  of this energy what  if we extract wholesome energy from this star , sounds fictionally .

The idea of dyson sphere first arrived in the author of    Olaf Stapledon in his book in his book star makers . it is a hypothetical megastructure which does not make any sense in present time . The concept of the Dyson sphere was the result of a thought experiment by physicist and mathematician Freeman Dyson, when he theorized that all technological civilizations constantly increased their demand for energy. He reasoned that if human civilization expanded energy demands long enough, there would come a time when it demanded the total energy output of the Sun.

Another most reliable structure is Dyson shell or sphere which claim to intercept 100% of the stars energy . It is suggest to make this megastructure around the dwarf star .  

This would intercept the full 384.6  yottawatts as compare to two structure this sphere works more efficiently . the number is approximately 33 trillion times the power consumption of humanity in 1998 which was 12 tetra watt .

By numbers it estimated that 1.82 x 10²⁶ kg of mass is required to cover whole star of 1 AU With mass density of 600kg/m² and about 8-20 cm thick on average depending on the density of the material  .

Structure should be hard tensile must tolerate the pressure .

Constructing such a system would make a civillisation of type II kardashev Civillisation  .
